Kolkata: The Technical Services Centre (NTSC), Howrah of The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. (NSIC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata, to provide specialised training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Entrepreneurship Development to students.
The MoU was signed on September 7, 2026, with the objective of providing students with industry-relevant skills in emerging technologies and entrepreneurship.
NSIC and Sister Nivedita University Join Hands for Skill Development
Under the collaboration, students of Sister Nivedita University will have access to specialised training programmes focused on:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Entrepreneurship Development
The programmes are designed to enhance students’ knowledge, technical competencies and employability while giving them exposure to emerging areas of technology and business development.
Students from Computer Science, Engineering, Management and other disciplines are expected to benefit from the training programmes.

MoU to Strengthen Academia-Industry Linkages
The collaboration aims to build stronger academia-industry linkages by connecting students with industry-oriented training and skill development opportunities.

NTSC Howrah and Sister Nivedita University Signatories
The MoU was signed by Ms. Nitika Anand, GM–Centre Head, NTSC Howrah, on behalf of NSIC, and Mr. Sumanta Basu, Registrar, Sister Nivedita University.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Prof. Anupam Basu, Vice Chancellor of Sister Nivedita University, along with other officials from NSIC and the University. The participation of senior officials from both institutions marked the beginning of a collaborative effort focused on technology-oriented education and entrepreneurship development.
Collaboration to Promote AI and Entrepreneurship Among Students
Artificial Intelligence is emerging as a key area across industries, while entrepreneurship and innovation continue to play an important role in economic and employment generation. The NSIC-Sister Nivedita University partnership is aimed at helping students develop practical and industry-relevant capabilities in these areas.
The collaboration is expected to provide a platform for students to strengthen their technical knowledge, explore entrepreneurial opportunities and improve their readiness for future career requirements.
