NTPC Football Club Wins A Division Inter Club Football League 2025, Secures Promotion to Super Division

Backed by NTPC Bongaigaon's CSR initiative, the undefeated team showcases rural football talent with star performers Dinti Hazowary and Dhananjay Brahma scoring 8 goals each

New Delhi: In a spectacular showcase of talent and teamwork, NTPC Football Club, sponsored by NTPC Bongaigaon under its CSR initiative, has clinched the Champion Trophy of the A Division Inter Club Football League 2025, organized by the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA). The team remained undefeated throughout the tournament, earning promotion to the prestigious Super Division League.

Unbeaten Run: 7 Wins, 2 Draws, and 23 Points

The league, which kicked off on 13th June 2025, witnessed NTPC FC dominate the field with 7 wins and 2 draws across 9 matches, finishing with 23 points—a commanding lead over the second-placed team. This performance reflects both strategic training and the raw passion of the players hailing from the rural heartlands of Salakati, Kokrajhar, and adjoining areas.

Emerging Stars Shine Bright

Two rising stars, Dinti Hazowary and Dhananjay Brahma, emerged as the highest scorers of the league with 8 goals each. Their success highlights the growing pool of local football talent nurtured through NTPC’s continuous investment in structured mentoring and development under its CSR and Sports Council initiatives.

Structured Coaching Meets Raw Talent

To further support the team, the NTPC Bongaigaon Sports Council, in collaboration with KDSA, appointed a dedicated professional coach. This effort ensured a balance between technical guidance and the innate enthusiasm of rural players, culminating in a disciplined and high-performing squad that brought pride to both NTPC and the local community.

Celebrating the Victory

The Champion Trophy was proudly handed over to Mr. Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, who lauded the team’s discipline, commitment, and inspiring journey from grassroots players to league champions. Also present were Mr. Amit Kumar Asthana, Head of HR, along with Sports Council members, Union and Association representatives, who congratulated the players for their achievement.
