New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Pankaj Pandey for appointment as Director (Operations) of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID).
Pandey is currently serving as Executive Director at POWERGRID. His appointment will fill the upcoming vacancy created by the retirement of incumbent Naveen Srivastava, who is scheduled to retire on November 30, 2026.
Pankaj Pandey Selected for POWERGRID Director (Operations) Post
The selection was made following interviews conducted by PESB for the senior management position.
As Director (Operations), Pandey will be responsible for overseeing the company’s operational functions and supporting the organisation’s long-term growth objectives.
The role will involve key responsibilities such as:
- Overseeing day-to-day operations
- Improving business and operational processes
- Strengthening operational efficiency
- Aligning business operations with long-term growth plans

A total of 12 applicants were interviewed during the PESB selection meeting for the post.

Following the selection process, Pankaj Pandey emerged as the PESB-recommended candidate for the Director (Operations) position.
Appointment to Take Effect After Selection Process
The PESB recommendation is part of the process for appointment to the senior management position at the public sector power transmission company.
The Director (Operations) will play an important role in managing POWERGRID’s operational activities and supporting its strategic objectives as the company continues to expand and strengthen India’s power transmission infrastructure.
