New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Nandkumar, Group General Manager at RITES Limited, for the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Braithwaite Burn & Jessop Construction Company Limited (BBJ), a Schedule C Central Public Sector Enterprise.
The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting, held on September 25, 2026, in New Delhi.
The final appointment will be subject to the usual government approvals and formal orders.
Nandkumar Recommended for BBJ CMD Post
PESB has recommended Nandkumar for the top management position at Braithwaite Burn & Jessop Construction Company Limited following an interview process involving nine applicants.
Nandkumar currently serves as Group General Manager at RITES Limited, a public sector engineering and consultancy company under the Ministry of Railways.
His recommendation by PESB will now go through the applicable government approval process before the final appointment is issued.

Nine Candidates Interviewed for CMD Position
A total of nine applicants were interviewed by PESB for the CMD position at BBJ.
The candidates included senior executives and officials from various public sector organisations and the armed forces:
- Sujit Kumar Ghosh – Director (Finance), Braithwaite Burn & Jessop Construction Company Limited
- Amanpreet Singh Chopra – Senior General Manager, Engineers India Limited
- Nandkumar – Group General Manager, RITES Limited
- Mahesh Kumar – Chief General Manager, IRCON International Limited
- Sushil Yadav – Group General Manager, RITES Limited
- Vishwajit Kumar – General Manager, MECON Limited
- Rakesh Kumar – General Manager, Engineering Projects (India) Limited
- Dr. Rajnish Kumar – Deputy General Manager, Indian Oil Corporation Limited
- Commodore Ashish Goyal – Army War College, Mhow
The applicants represented a range of engineering, infrastructure, finance, energy and defence-related organisations.
PESB Meeting Held on September 25
The recommendation was made at PESB Meeting No. 80/2026, which was held in New Delhi on September 25, 2026.
PESB conducts selection processes for senior management positions in Central Public Sector Enterprises and recommends suitable candidates to the government.
Following the recommendation, the appointment of the BBJ CMD will be completed after the required government approvals and issuance of formal orders.
Appointment Subject to Government Approval
The PESB recommendation does not by itself constitute the final appointment.
The selection of Nandkumar as CMD of Braithwaite Burn & Jessop Construction Company Limited will be subject to the usual government approvals and orders.
The formal appointment will take effect after completion of the prescribed approval process.
