Dahej LNG Terminal Processes 192 TBTU in Q1 FY27
During the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Petronet LNG’s Dahej terminal processed 192 TBTU of LNG.
This was lower than:
- 207 TBTU processed in Q1 FY26
- 201 TBTU processed in Q4 FY26
At the overall company level, LNG volumes processed stood at 207 TBTU during the current quarter, compared with 220 TBTU in Q1 FY26 and 219 TBTU in the previous quarter.
Despite lower LNG throughput, the company delivered strong year-on-year growth in its financial performance.
Dahej Terminal Capacity Utilisation at 66%
The Dahej terminal recorded 66% capacity utilisation during Q1 FY27, compared with 92% in the corresponding quarter and 90% in the previous quarter.
At the overall company level, capacity utilisation stood at 58%, compared with 76% in both Q1 FY26 and Q4 FY26.
However, the company has increased the nameplate capacity of the Dahej terminal following the commissioning of its regasification expansion project.
The terminal’s capacity has increased from 17.5 MMTPA to 22.5 MMTPA. As a result, the capacity utilisation for the current quarter has been calculated using the new 22.5 MMTPA capacity base.
Commercial and Operational Efficiency Drives Growth
Petronet LNG said the growth in its financial performance during the current quarter was achieved through commercial and operational efficiency.
The improvement in PBT and PAT came despite lower LNG volumes processed and reduced capacity utilisation compared with the year-ago period.
The company’s financial performance therefore reflects the impact of improved operational and commercial efficiency during the quarter.
Q1 FY27 Performance Compared With Previous Quarter
On a sequential basis, Petronet LNG’s profitability declined from the March 2026 quarter.
PBT decreased from Rs 1,795 crore in Q4 FY26 to Rs 1,514 crore in Q1 FY27, while PAT declined from Rs 1,338 crore to Rs 1,133 crore.
At the same time, LNG processed at the Dahej terminal declined from 201 TBTU in Q4 FY26 to 192 TBTU in Q1 FY27.
Petronet LNG Expands Dahej Terminal Capacity
The increase in Dahej terminal capacity to 22.5 MMTPA from 17.5 MMTPA marks an important expansion in Petronet LNG’s LNG regasification infrastructure.
With the expanded capacity now operational, the company has a larger infrastructure base to handle LNG volumes and support India’s growing natural gas requirements.
