Srinagar: The Government of India has appointed IAS officer Piyush Singla as Director in the National Health Authority (NHA) under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The appointment has been made through the Central Staffing Scheme.
The order was issued via an Office Memorandum by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
2012-Batch AGMUT Cadre Officer Selected Under Central Staffing Scheme
Piyush Singla is a 2012-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the AGMUT cadre. He has been appointed after being recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
He will serve under the Department of Health and Family Welfare in New Delhi, strengthening the implementation of digital health initiatives under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
Tenure Linked to Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission
As per the DoPT memorandum, Singla’s appointment will be co-terminus with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and may be extended further as per the rules under the Central Staffing Scheme.
The appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge of the post.

Mandatory Joining Timeline and DoPT Conditions
The DoPT has directed that the officer must join the new post within three weeks from the date of issuance of the order.
Failure to do so may lead to debarment from the Central Staffing Scheme, as per established guidelines.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has also been instructed to relieve him immediately to enable his smooth transition to the new assignment in Delhi.
Current Posting in Jammu and Kashmir Administration
Before this appointment, Piyush Singla was serving as Secretary to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir in the Information Technology Department. He also held additional charge of the General Administration, Information, and Hospitality and Protocol departments.
His new role marks a significant shift from state-level administration to a key position in India’s national digital health mission.
