Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government on Monday issued fresh charge arrangement orders, assigning additional responsibilities to several Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across key departments. The changes mainly impact urban development and power distribution administration in the state.
Suthar Raj Rameshchandra Appointed Additional MD of DGVCL
Suthar Raj Rameshchandra (IAS, Gujarat Cadre, 2019 Batch) is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Surat Urban Development Authority (SUDA) in Gujarat. He has now been assigned the additional charge of Managing Director (MD) of Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (DGVCL).
With this order, he will also take over the additional responsibility from Yogesh Choudhary, who has been relieved of the post.
This move is expected to improve coordination in the southern Gujarat power distribution system.
K P Joshi Given Multiple Responsibilities in Rajkot
K. P. Joshi, born on 24 July 1968, is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer serving in the Gujarat cadre. He is from the 2021 batch and holds academic qualifications including an L.L.B. and an M. Com. He is proficient in Gujarati and Hindi.
Currently, he is serving as the Managing Director at Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (PGVCL), Rajkot. He continues to hold important administrative responsibilities within the state government.
As per the latest order, he has been assigned additional charge of:
- Regional Commissioner of Municipalities, Rajkot
- Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DyMC), Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC)
He will take over these responsibilities from Mahesh Jani, who has been relieved of the additional charge.
Government’s Administrative Reshuffle Approach
The Gujarat government regularly issues such charge arrangement orders to ensure smooth governance and uninterrupted administrative functioning across departments. Assigning additional responsibilities to IAS officers helps maintain continuity until permanent postings are finalized.
