New Delhi: Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) will undertake the serial production of JAYA, an indigenous Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) developed by the CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO), with design support from the Naval Design (Submarine) Group.
The Transfer of Technology (ToT) for JAYA was signed on the occasion of CSIR’s 85th Foundation Day in the presence of Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh.
The initiative is aimed at moving indigenous underwater technology from research and development to industrial-scale production and strengthening India’s capabilities in advanced marine platforms.
HSL to Begin Serial Production of JAYA AUV
Under the technology transfer arrangement, HSL will serially manufacture JAYA, enabling the indigenous AUV technology to move from laboratory-level development to industrial-scale production.
The initiative is expected to strengthen domestic capabilities in the development and production of advanced underwater platforms.
