Gurugram: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has announced the commissioning of its “Transmission Scheme for Solar Energy Zone in Bidar (2500 MW), Karnataka (TBCB)”, effective from 5 October 2026. The project is designed to facilitate the evacuation of power from the 2,500 MW Solar Energy Zone in Bidar, Karnataka, strengthening transmission infrastructure for renewable energy in the southern region.
The company informed the stock exchanges about the development under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. POWERGRID confirmed that it received the official notification regarding the project’s commercial operation via email on 8 October 2026.

The transmission scheme has been commissioned to support the transfer of electricity generated from the large-scale solar energy zone in Karnataka.

POWERGRID disclosed the commissioning of the transmission project to the stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The company stated that the project had been completely commissioned with effect from 5 October 2026. The official notification confirming commercial operation was received via email on 8 October 2026.
