CM Bhagwant Mann Says Financial Constraints Should Not Limit Students’ Dreams
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that financial circumstances and geographical limitations should not prevent talented young people from pursuing their ambitions.
He emphasised that every young person in Punjab should have the opportunity to prepare for competitive examinations without worrying about the cost of coaching or distance from major educational centres.
Mann said the state’s ‘Punjab Sikhiya Kranti’ initiative is not limited to transforming classrooms but also focuses on shaping the future of students.
He added that Punjab’s progress depends on the growth and opportunities available to its youth, expressing the government’s commitment to building a ‘Rangla Punjab’.
Harjot Bains Highlights Equal Access to Civil Services Preparation
Education Minister Harjot Bains said the initiative aims to ensure that a student’s financial background does not determine their chances of succeeding in civil services examinations.
He noted that behind every civil services aspirant are years of preparation, determination and family sacrifices. The government wants to support these aspirations by providing students with the necessary academic resources and guidance.
Bains added that the programme would help students from rural areas and smaller towns access quality coaching and preparation facilities without having to travel to major coaching hubs.
Free Online Coaching to Include Live Classes, Study Material and Interview Guidance
The programme will provide comprehensive academic support throughout the civil services preparation process. It will go beyond regular online lectures by offering students multiple learning and evaluation facilities.
The key features of the free coaching programme include:
- Live Interactive Classes: Structured online lectures with opportunities for student interaction.
- Recorded Lectures: Access to recorded sessions for flexible learning and revision.
- Study Material: Academic resources to support preparation for UPSC and Punjab PCS examinations.
- Test Series: Regular assessments to evaluate preparation and performance.
- Answer-Writing Practice: Practice sessions with evaluation to improve answer-writing skills.
- Personalised Mentorship: Individual guidance to help students plan and improve their preparation.
- Doubt-Clearing Sessions: Academic support to address students’ questions and difficulties.
- Interview Guidance: Preparation and guidance for the interview stage of civil services examinations.
According to Bains, the programme is intended to give students the confidence, resources and direction needed to pursue their civil services ambitions.
Punjab Sikhiya Kranti Aims to Expand Educational Opportunities
The free civil services coaching initiative is part of the Punjab government’s broader focus on improving access to quality education and creating opportunities for young people.
By providing structured online coaching to 1,000 selected college students, the programme seeks to reduce the gap between students in major cities and those studying in rural and economically disadvantaged areas.
The initiative will support aspirants preparing for both UPSC Civil Services and Punjab PCS examinations, helping them access academic resources and expert guidance without paying coaching fees.
