Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved approximately ₹89 crore for a series of development, infrastructure, and welfare projects across the state. The sanctioned funds cover police housing upgrades, jail infrastructure, disaster relief assistance, constituency development works, and improvements to public facilities.
Major Boost to Police Housing in Haridwar and Rishikesh
A significant portion of the sanctioned amount has been allocated to strengthen police residential infrastructure in key locations.
- ₹42.47 crore has been approved for the construction of 120 Type-II residential quarters at Police Line, Roshanabad in Haridwar.
- ₹17.44 crore has been sanctioned for demolishing dilapidated residential buildings at Rishikesh Police Station and constructing 36 Type-II and 9 Type-III residential quarters in their place.
These projects aim to improve living conditions for police personnel and enhance administrative efficiency in the region.
Jail Infrastructure Upgrade in Dehradun
The state government has also approved funds for improving facilities at the District Jail in Dehradun.
- ₹59.78 lakh has been sanctioned for the construction of new barracks on the first floor of eight existing barracks in Enclosure Nos. 05/06.
This development is expected to help improve accommodation capacity and overall infrastructure within the correctional facility.
₹27.60 Crore Released for Police Establishment Improvements
In addition to specific construction projects, the Chief Minister has approved the release of ₹27.60 crore during the current financial year for the improvement of various police establishments across Uttarakhand. The funds are aimed at strengthening operational infrastructure and administrative facilities.
Financial Assistance for Disaster-Affected Families in Uttarkashi
Under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, assistance has been approved for nine families from Tehsil Jashiyad and Tehsil Dunda in Uttarkashi district, who were affected by natural disasters during 2025–26 and 2026–27.
- Each affected family, currently residing in rented accommodation, will receive ₹4,000 per month as rental assistance for six months.
- The total assistance amounts to ₹2.16 lakh.
This support aims to provide temporary relief and financial stability to families impacted by natural calamities.
Development Works in Almora and Dehradun Constituencies
Several constituency-level development projects have also received approval:
Salt Assembly Constituency, Almora
- Installation of 10 high-mast lights in major market areas
- Total cost: ₹29.32 lakh
Vikasnagar Assembly Constituency, Dehradun
- ₹97.79 lakh sanctioned against a total project cost of ₹380.12 lakh
- ₹58.67 lakh released as the first installment
- Funds allocated for various local development works
These initiatives aim to improve public infrastructure and enhance civic amenities at the local level.
Infrastructure Upgrade at Uttarakhand Ashram in Pushkar, Rajasthan
The Chief Minister has also approved a grant of ₹50 lakh for infrastructure improvements at the Uttarakhand Ashram/Dharamshala in Pushkar, Rajasthan.
The allocated funds will be used for:
- Installation of a generator set
- Improvement of water supply systems
- Solar panel installation
- Other essential facility upgrades
This project is expected to enhance accommodation and services for visitors and pilgrims.
With the approval of nearly ₹89 crore, the Uttarakhand government has focused on strengthening police infrastructure, supporting disaster-affected families, and improving civic amenities across multiple districts. The initiatives reflect a broad push toward infrastructure modernization and welfare-oriented governance across the state.
