Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated Shine AV Learning’s Inclusive Education Mission-2030 at a private hotel on Rajpur Road, Dehradun.
During the event, the Chief Minister also unveiled a collection of visual learning curriculum-based books and educational materials designed to improve learning experiences for children with special needs.
Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami described the initiative as an important step towards making education more accessible, effective, and inclusive for every child.
Education Remains Top Priority for Central and State Governments: CM Dhami
Highlighting the importance of education, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that both the Central and Uttarakhand governments have consistently given the highest priority to the education sector.
Referring to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said the policy focuses not only on academic learning but also on developing:
- Critical thinking skills
- Innovation capabilities
- Confidence among students
- Practical abilities for success in life
The Chief Minister emphasised that education should prepare children not only for examinations but also for real-life challenges.
Uttarakhand Strengthens Digital and Inclusive Education Infrastructure
CM Dhami said the state government is taking several steps to modernise education through technology and innovation.
Key initiatives include:
- Smart classrooms in schools
- ICT laboratories
- PM SHRI Schools
- Atal Utkrisht Schools
- Digital learning content
- Science and innovation-based education
To promote inclusive education, government schools have also been upgraded with facilities such as:
- Ramps and railings for accessibility
- Accessible toilets
- Adapted furniture
- Safe drinking water facilities
These measures aim to create a more supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
Around 5,800 Special Needs Children Enrolled in Uttarakhand Schools
Chief Minister Dhami informed that around 5,800 children with special needs are currently studying in schools across Uttarakhand.
He highlighted the government’s efforts in providing specialised support through:
- 11 government-run special schools offering education and rehabilitation services
- More than 1,300 children receiving specialised education and support
- Over 300 special educators appointed at primary and secondary levels
He added that recruitment for remaining special educator vacancies is also underway.
Government Aims to Provide Quality Education for Every Child
CM Dhami said the government’s objective is to ensure inclusive and quality education so that every child in Uttarakhand gets the opportunity to realise their potential and contribute to building a developed India.
He stated that children must be prepared not only for academic success but also for life skills, creativity, and confidence.
CM Dhami Appreciates Shine AV Learning Team and Reverse Migration Efforts
The Chief Minister congratulated educationist Anita Sharma and the Shine AV Learning team for introducing innovative educational practices in Uttarakhand.
He appreciated Sharma’s decision to return from abroad and contribute to the state’s education sector, describing it as an inspiring example of reverse migration.
CM Dhami also highlighted that many people are showing interest in returning to their native villages, with several already taking steps in this direction. He stressed the importance of preserving Uttarakhand’s cultural heritage and traditions.
Uttarakhand Emerging as a Model State in Various Sectors
Chief Minister Dhami said Uttarakhand welcomes people from across the country and values individuals based on their ideas, dedication, and contributions.
He highlighted the state’s achievements in several areas, including:
- Becoming the first state to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC)
- Achieving the top position in Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) rankings
- Introducing a strict anti-copying law to ensure transparency and merit in education
He said Uttarakhand continues to move forward despite challenges, guided by the dedication and efforts of its people.
