New Delhi: As part of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign–2026 and in pursuance of the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), RailTel’s Vigilance Department organised a workshop on “GeM – New Features and Functionalities” at its Corporate Office on September 21, 2026.
The session focused on the latest features, processes and functionalities of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), with an emphasis on enabling efficient, transparent and compliant public procurement.
RailTel Workshop Focuses on Latest GeM Features
The workshop was conducted by Sh. Tushar Agarwal, Trainer, GeM Central Team, who provided participants with insights into the latest developments and functionalities available on the GeM platform.
The session highlighted the importance of staying updated with changes on the digital procurement platform, particularly considering the significant volume of procurement undertaken by RailTel through GeM.
The workshop focused on:

Speaking on the occasion, the CMD, RailTel, highlighted the importance of providing regular feedback to GeM authorities on various functionalities of the platform.
He particularly emphasised the relevance of feedback on features such as seller ratings, which can help improve the effectiveness and user experience of the procurement platform.
The interaction also underlined the importance of continuous engagement between procuring organisations and GeM authorities to further improve the digital procurement ecosystem.
CVO RailTel Emphasises Integrity and Responsible Decision-Making
The Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), RailTel, reiterated the importance of maintaining integrity and sound judgement while taking procurement-related decisions.
The CVO emphasised that officials must exercise responsible decision-making while using the digital public procurement portal.
The latest GeM features and functionalities can help further strengthen:
