New Delhi: The RailTel Vigilance Department organised a workshop on “Public Procurement and Contract Management” at the company’s Corporate Office on August 27, 2026, as part of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign–2026.
The workshop focused on various aspects and practical nuances of public procurement and contract management, with particular emphasis on project closure. The session brought together senior officials and executives from RailTel’s Regions and Territory offices.
RailTel CMD Sanjai Kumar Chairs Workshop
The session was chaired by Sanjai Kumar, CMD, RailTel, and conducted by Rahul Kumar Goel, IRSSE (1985 batch), Adviser/NR.
The workshop was attended by:
- Directors of RailTel
- CVO, RailTel
- Senior executives
- Executives from Regions and Territory offices through video conferencing
The session was described as highly interactive and insightful, facilitating meaningful discussions on different aspects of public procurement and contract management.

Workshop Focuses on Project Closure
The workshop delved into various aspects and nuances of Public Procurement and Contract Management, with special emphasis on project closure. The discussions provided executives with practical insights into the processes involved in managing and closing projects effectively.
The interactive session also provided an opportunity for officials to discuss operational issues and gain a deeper understanding of contract management practices.
CMD Directs Special Drive for Project Closure
During the workshop, CMD Sanjai Kumar directed all executives to launch a special drive for project closure during the three-month campaign period.
The initiative will be undertaken under the guidance of the Director, POM, with executives directed to initiate necessary action for the closure of projects.The special drive is aimed at giving focused attention to pending project closure activities during the campaign period.
CVO RailTel Calls for Integrity Pledge
As part of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign–2026, CVO RailTel also requested all executives to take the Integrity Pledge during the campaign period.
The Integrity Pledge link has already been made available on the RailTel website, enabling employees and executives to participate in the initiative. The pledge forms part of RailTel’s efforts to promote integrity and strengthen vigilance awareness across the organisation.

The workshop forms part of RailTel’s broader efforts under the Vigilance Awareness Campaign–2026 to enhance awareness of procurement and contract management practices among its executives.
