New Delhi: REC Limited has been awarded the First Prize for outstanding implementation of the Official Language Policy for 2025-26 at a meeting of the Hindi Salahkar Samiti of the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
The award recognises REC’s sustained efforts towards promoting, propagating and effectively implementing Hindi as the official language across the organisation.
The award was presented to REC by Manohar Lal, Union Minister of Power and Housing and Urban Affairs. Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, Dinesh Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and current Rajya Sabha MP, Suresh Kumar Kashyap, Lok Sabha MP, and Pankaj Agrawal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, were also present at the event.
Jitendra Shrivastava, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director of REC, received the award on behalf of the organisation.
REC Tops Among Ministry of Power Organisations
The recognition is particularly significant as REC earned the distinction among all Central Public Sector Enterprises, subordinate offices and organisations under the Ministry of Power.
The award highlights REC’s efforts to ensure effective compliance with the provisions of the Official Language Policy and strengthen the use of Hindi in its official functioning.
