REC Limited to Set Up 20 Smart Classrooms in West Bengal Government Schools, Benefiting 1,500+ Students

Under its CSR initiative, REC will establish technology-enabled Smart Classrooms in Alipurduar district to promote digital education, bridge the digital divide and improve learning outcomes in rural and tribal schools.

Kolkata: REC Limited has taken another step towards promoting digital education and inclusive learning by launching a CSR initiative to establish 20 Smart Classrooms in government schools of Alipurduar district, West Bengal.

Through this project, REC Limited aims to bridge the digital divide and provide students in rural and tribal areas with access to technology-enabled learning facilities.

The company has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Career Forum for the implementation of the CSR project titled “Establishment of 20 Smart Classrooms in Government Schools of Alipurduar, West Bengal.”

REC Signs MoA with Career Forum for Digital Education Project

The MoA was signed on July 14, 2026, by:

  • Mr. Arun Kumar Tyagi, Executive Director (CSR), REC Limited
  • Mr. Anant Chauhan, Chairman, Career Forum

The signing ceremony was attended by:

  • Mr. L. B. Nautiyal, Head of Department (CSR), REC Limited
  • Other officials from REC Limited

The partnership will focus on developing modern classroom infrastructure and improving access to digital learning resources for students.

Over 1,500 Students to Benefit from Smart Classrooms

The project will establish 20 technology-enabled Smart Classrooms in government schools across Alipurduar district.

More than 1,500 students are expected to benefit from:

  • Interactive digital learning tools
  • Technology-based teaching methods
  • Improved classroom engagement
  • Better learning experiences
  • Access to modern educational resources

The initiative aims to improve academic outcomes by creating a more engaging and effective learning environment.

Focus on Rural and Tribal Students Through Digital Education

A key objective of the project is to strengthen digital education infrastructure in rural and tribal regions of West Bengal.
