New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in the 12th International Day of Yoga celebrations at the scenic Neeli Jheel in Asola-Bhati, where she performed yoga alongside hundreds of yoga practitioners. The event was held under the global theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” promoting a message of balanced, active, and healthy living.

Senior leaders including MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar were also present at the event.

CM Performs Yoga with Hundreds at Neeli Jheel

The Chief Minister joined a large gathering of yoga enthusiasts and performed various yoga asanas on the banks of Neeli Jheel. The peaceful natural setting added to the significance of the celebration, which focused on physical fitness, mental wellness, and holistic health.

Officials and public representatives attended the session, making it a major public participation event in the capital.

This year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” focuses on encouraging people of all age groups to adopt yoga as part of their daily routine.

The Chief Minister highlighted that yoga helps maintain balance between body, mind, and soul while providing inner peace amid busy lifestyles.

In her social media message on X, CM Rekha Gupta expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for elevating yoga to a global platform.

She said India’s ancient practice of yoga has become a worldwide movement due to the Prime Minister’s efforts, giving it international recognition and acceptance.

Appeal to Make Yoga a Daily Habit

Extending greetings on International Yoga Day, the Chief Minister urged citizens to make yoga a regular part of their lives.

She said adopting yoga daily can help build a healthy, strong, and prosperous Delhi, and encouraged people to contribute toward a stress-free and wellness-oriented society.

International Yoga Day was celebrated across Delhi in parks, schools, residential colonies, and public spaces, with thousands of people participating in mass yoga sessions.

The event was part of nationwide celebrations led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who participated in the main programme in Kolkata.

The Yoga Day celebrations in Delhi highlighted the growing importance of yoga in public health and urban well-being.
