RINL Appoints IFS Dr. G Trinadh Kumar as Chief Vigilance Officer to Strengthen Governance and Compliance 

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited appoints experienced IFS officer with 20+ years in environment and forestry to enhance vigilance, transparency, and sustainability frameworks.

New Delhi: Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Dr. G Trinadh Kumar has assumed charge as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

He belongs to the 2002 batch of the AGMUT cadre and brings over 20 years of experience in administration, environmental governance, and natural resource management.

Strong Background in Environment and Forest Administration

Dr. Kumar has held several key positions in the Government of India and brings deep expertise in:

  • Forestry and wildlife management
  • Environmental and biodiversity conservation
  • Coastal zone and ecological management
  • Natural resource governance

Before joining RINL, he served as Inspector General of Forests (Central) at the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change in Hyderabad and as Regional Director (South Zone) at the Forest Survey of India in Bengaluru.

Experience Across Sensitive Ecological Regions

Throughout his career, Dr. Kumar has worked in ecologically sensitive regions such as:

  • Andaman & Nicobar Islands
  • Goa

His work included biodiversity conservation, tribal welfare initiatives, and community-based natural resource management, strengthening sustainable governance practices in these regions.

Academic Excellence in Genetics and Biotechnology

Dr. G Trinadh Kumar holds a Ph.D. in Genetics from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute.

He has specialized knowledge in:

  • Biotechnology
  • Forestry science
  • Environmental conservation
  • Wildlife management

This multidisciplinary background is expected to support stronger environmental compliance and sustainability practices at RINL.

As Chief Vigilance Officer, Dr. Kumar will focus on enhancing transparency, accountability, and compliance systems within the organisation.
