New Delhi: RITES Limited has announced the appointment of Rakesh Kumar Gupta as its new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), effective May 18, 2026. In addition to the strategic leadership role, he will also serve as the Ex-Officio Chief Operating Officer (COO) of RITES EXPOCON.
The appointment was disclosed through a regulatory filing submitted to stock exchanges under SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The appointment of Rakesh Kumar Gupta is seen as part of RITES’ broader strategy to strengthen its leadership structure and enhance operational efficiency across key business segments.
Previously serving as General Manager (Finance), Gupta will now become part of the senior management team, where he is expected to play a major role in:

- Emerging business opportunities in renewable energy and exports

A Chartered Accountant since 2001, Gupta brings more than 24 years of professional experience in:
- Corporate finance
- Project finance
- Taxation and international trade
- Infrastructure project management
- Strategic business operations
He has been associated with RITES Limited for over 21 years and has worked across several strategic business divisions, including renewable energy, exports, international business, and financial systems.
Key Roles in Infrastructure and Metro Projects
Before taking over as CSO, Gupta held several important positions within the infrastructure and transport sectors.
His previous responsibilities include:
- Chief Financial Officer of REMC Limited
- Deputy Chief Financial Advisor for Ahmedabad Rail Metro
- Management of World Bank-funded infrastructure projects
- Oversight of Government of India Line of Credit projects
He also worked with Diamond Cements under the S.K. Birla Group and reputed chartered accountancy firms earlier in his career.
