New Delhi: RITES Limited has appointed Dr. Sandeepa Malhotra as a Non-Official Director on its Board of Directors. The appointment is effective from October 6, 2026, for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The appointment follows approval by the Hon’ble President of India, as communicated by the Ministry of Railways. Dr. Malhotra brings 28 years of teaching and academic experience in MBA and Business Economics, along with extensive expertise in research, curriculum development, administration, placements, career counselling and mentoring.

RITES Limited received communication from the Ministry of Railways regarding Dr. Malhotra’s appointment as a Non-Official Director on the company’s Board.
The appointment was approved by the Hon’ble President of India through a letter dated October 6, 2026.

Dr. Sandeepa Malhotra is an accomplished academician with 28 years of teaching and academic experience in the fields of MBA and Business Economics.
Her academic qualifications include:
- Ph.D.
- Master’s degree in Business Economics (M.B.E.)
Over the course of her career, she has been associated with reputed institutions including Jiwaji University, IITTM and IGNOU.
Her experience covers several areas of academic and institutional management, including:
- Administration
- Curriculum development
- Research
- Student placements
- Career counselling
- Mentoring
Research and Professional Contributions
Dr. Malhotra has made significant contributions to academic research and has authored or presented more than 38 research papers.
She has also authored a book on Quality Management, adding to her academic and professional contributions in the field.
Her association with the Indian Economic Association spans more than 15 years. During this period, she has held several responsibilities, including:
- Executive Member
- Rapporteur
- Co-Chairperson
Her long academic and professional association with economic and management-related fields brings additional expertise to her new role on the RITES Board.
Appointment Complies with SEBI Disclosure Requirements
RITES has confirmed that Dr. Malhotra is not debarred from holding the office of director by any order of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other authority.
The company also disclosed that she is not related to any other director of RITES Limited.
The appointment has been formally disclosed to both major stock exchanges:
- National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE)
- BSE Limited
These disclosures have been made in compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements.
