SECL, EDCIL, and Jashpur District Administration Sign MoU to Install 206 Interactive Panels in Government Schools

Tripartite Initiative to Promote Digital Education, Enhance Student Engagement, and Provide Modern Learning Facilities Across Jashpur Schools

New Delhi: In a landmark initiative to enhance digital learning in government schools, the Jashpur District Administration, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), and EDCIL signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Bagia, Jashpur. The agreement was signed in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai, who praised the project for promoting innovation and technical skills among students.

The MoU was signed by:

  • Collector Mr. Rohit Vyas on behalf of the District Administration
  • General Manager Mr. C.M. Verma representing SECL
  • Project Director Mr. Vikas Sahrawat representing EDCIL

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted that the initiative would foster curiosity, creativity, and digital literacy among students, laying the foundation for their bright academic and professional futures.

Project Scope and Implementation

Under the agreement, a total of 206 interactive panels will be installed in selected government schools across Jashpur district in a phased manner. These panels will enable teachers to deliver interactive lessons using digital content, videos, presentations, and e-learning resources, making learning more engaging, effective, and modern.

The MoU also includes provisions for training teachers, ensuring proper operation, and carrying out regular maintenance of the interactive panels to guarantee sustained use and impact.

Funding and Expected Impact

SECL has sanctioned ₹5 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to cover the cost of installing the panels. The project is expected to benefit hundreds of students, providing them access to quality digital education.

Collector Mr. Rohit Vyas expressed gratitude to SECL and EDCIL for their collaboration and noted that the initiative would significantly improve student learning outcomes in government schools of the district.

About South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL)

SECL is a public sector undertaking under Coal India Limited, engaged in coal mining and allied activities. It actively participates in CSR initiatives aimed at improving education, healthcare, and community development in mining regions.
