Leadership Updates: Shivakumar Subramania Selected as CMD of Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited by PESB

PESB chooses RCF’s Executive Director (Finance), Mr. Shivakumar Subramania, to head the fertilizer major after a rigorous selection process involving senior PSU executives.

New Delhi: In a significant development, the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Mr. Shivakumar Subramania for the position of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCF), a leading Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

Mr. Subramania, who currently serves as Executive Director (Finance) at RCF, has over three decades of experience in finance, corporate strategy, and management within the fertilizer and chemical sector. His strong leadership record and deep understanding of the organization’s operations were key factors in his selection by the PESB.

Selection Process and Candidates

The PESB conducted a rigorous selection process to identify the next CMD of RCF. Several senior executives from major public sector undertakings appeared for the interview, which was held recently in New Delhi.

The shortlisted candidates were:

  • Mr. Shivakumar Subramania, Executive Director (Finance), Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited
  • Mr. Anupam Misra, Director (Marketing), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT)
  • Mr. Sanjay Banga, Chairman & Managing Director, Cement Corporation of India Limited
  • Mr. Krishna Mohan Srivastava, Senior General Manager & Business Area Head, Sitapur, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)

After a comprehensive evaluation of their qualifications, experience, and vision for the company, PESB recommended Mr. Shivakumar Subramania for the top post at RCF.

Strategic Leadership Ahead for RCF

As CMD, Mr. Subramania is expected to steer RCF toward greater growth and operational excellence. His appointment comes at a crucial time when the fertilizer industry is focusing on sustainability, energy efficiency, and modernization to meet India’s growing agricultural demands.

Under his leadership, RCF is likely to strengthen its market position, explore new opportunities in chemical production, and contribute significantly to the government’s goals of self-reliance in fertilizer manufacturing.
