New Delhi: The Ministry of Coal has appointed Sona Kumari as a Non-Official Independent Director on the Board of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL).
Coal India Limited informed the stock exchanges about the appointment on Thursday. The appointment was made through a Ministry of Coal letter dated September 17, 2026.
Sona Kumari Appointed as Independent Director on NCL Board
Sona Kumari will serve as a Non-Official Independent Director on the Board of Northern Coalfields Limited.
The appointment is effective from the date of notification and will continue until the completion of her tenure as a Non-Official Director on the Board of Coal India Limited, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
