Chennai: In a continuous process of transfers and postings since the formation of the new government in Tamil Nadu, the state government led by Chief Minister Joseph Vijay on Friday once again carried out a significant administrative reshuffle involving five IAS officers and announced the creation of several temporary senior-level posts across key departments.
The transfers were notified through G.O. (Rt.) No. 1738 issued by the Public (Special-A) Department. The order also stated that the newly created posts would remain in force for one year or until they are no longer required, whichever is earlier.
Pradeep Yadav Appointed Addl Chief Secretary, IT & Digital Services
Senior IAS officer Pradeep Yadav has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Information Technology and Digital Services Department.
He was previously serving as Secretary to the then Deputy Chief Minister and now takes charge of one of the state’s most strategically important departments overseeing digital governance and technology initiatives.
T.N. Venkatesh Moved to Handlooms, Textiles and Khadi Department
T. N. Venkatesh, who was serving as Principal Secretary and Vice Chairman & CEO of the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board, has been transferred and appointed as Principal Secretary to the Government, Handlooms, Handicrafts, Textiles and Khadi Department.
P. Shankar Named Agricultural Production Commissioner
P. Shankar, formerly Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department, has been appointed as Agricultural Production Commissioner and Secretary to the Government, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department.
His new assignment places him at the helm of Tamil Nadu’s agriculture administration and policy implementation.
G. Latha Posted as Registrar of Cooperative Societies
G. Latha, who was serving as Commissioner of the Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute, has been appointed as Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
B. Gayathri Krishnan Returns from Leave, Gets New Assignment
B. Gayathri Krishnan has been posted as Director (Social Security Schemes) in the Office of the Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management upon her return from leave.
Deepak Jacob Sent to GUIDANCE as MD and CEO
The services of Deepak Jacob, currently Director of Survey and Settlement, have been placed at the disposal of GUIDANCE Tamil Nadu for appointment as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
GUIDANCE is the state’s investment promotion agency responsible for attracting domestic and foreign investment.
Temporary Posts Created for One Year
The government order clarified that all newly created posts associated with these appointments will remain temporary for one year or until the requirement ceases, whichever is earlier.
The reshuffle is aimed at strengthening governance and ensuring effective administrative leadership across sectors including information technology, agriculture, textiles, cooperatives, and investment promotion.
