Addressing a public gathering after inaugurating the projects, CM Yogi said that the state government is committed to ensuring development without discrimination and taking infrastructure projects to the ground level.
Gorakhpur’s First Six-Lane Flyover Inaugurated to Ease Traffic Congestion
The newly inaugurated Transport Nagar-Padleyganj six-lane flyover, including the connection of the Deoria bypass intersection, has been built at a cost of approximately ₹429.49 crore.
The 2.6-kilometre-long flyover is expected to transform urban mobility in Gorakhpur by reducing traffic pressure on important city routes.
The project will benefit people travelling towards:
- Sant Kabir Nagar
- Basti
- Ayodhya
- Lucknow
- Varanasi
- Prayagraj
- Azamgarh
- Kushinagar
- Deoria
- Bihar

- Nepal
The Chief Minister said the flyover would provide smoother travel facilities to around 50 lakh to one crore people.

CM Yogi Highlights Improved Connectivity in Gorakhpur
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, CM Yogi said that Gorakhpur has emerged as one of the best-connected cities in the region.
He highlighted improvements in:
- Road infrastructure
- Air connectivity
- Railway services
The Chief Minister said that major roads connecting the city have been developed into four-lane routes, while air connectivity has also expanded significantly.
He mentioned that around 14 flights are operating daily from Gorakhpur Airport, making travel easier for residents.
Taking a light-hearted dig at Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan, CM Yogi said improved connectivity allows him to have breakfast in Gorakhpur and dinner in Delhi or Mumbai on the same day.
He also pointed out the contribution of trains like Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat in connecting eastern Uttar Pradesh with other major cities.
Travel Time to Lucknow and Varanasi Reduced Due to Better Infrastructure
CM Yogi said that improved road connectivity has significantly reduced travel time from Gorakhpur.
Earlier:
- Travelling to Lucknow used to take 8 to 10 hours.
- Travelling to Varanasi required around 6 to 7 hours.
Now, the same journeys can be completed in around:
- 4 hours to Lucknow
- 3 hours to Varanasi
He said these infrastructure developments are part of the government’s larger mission to create modern facilities for citizens.

CM Yogi Targets Opposition Over Development and Faith Issues
During his address, CM Yogi launched a sharp attack on opposition parties, accusing previous governments of ignoring development and public welfare.
Referring to the Ram temple movement, he said that those who once opposed the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple and took action against Ram devotees are now presenting themselves as supporters of faith.
He said:
“Those who created obstacles in the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, fired on Ram devotees and opposed the issue even in the Supreme Court are today giving lectures on faith.”
The Chief Minister also criticized previous governments over issues related to farmers, women’s safety and law and order.
He said that his government’s focus has been on development, security and ensuring justice reaches every section of society.
