Lucknow: Residents of villages in Uttar Pradesh’s Hata tehsil in Kushinagar will soon be able to raise their grievances closer to home, as Joint Magistrate and 2025-batch trainee IAS officer Mayank Tripathi is launching the ‘Administration at Your Doorstep’ initiative from Monday.
Under the programme, village chaupals and grievance camps will be organised twice a week at different locations across the Hata tehsil area. Rural residents will be able to bring their problems to the camps, where officials will hear their complaints and take steps for their resolution.
The initiative aims to reduce the need for villagers to repeatedly visit the tehsil office for administrative and revenue-related matters.
Revenue Complaints to Be Taken Up at Village Camps
Mayank Tripathi said the administration wants to resolve people’s problems as close to their villages and homes as possible.
Revenue-related complaints will receive particular attention during the camps. The presence of the revenue department’s complete team will allow officials to examine complaints, verify records and initiate action at the spot wherever possible.
However, cases already pending before courts will continue to be dealt with through the appropriate judicial process and according to applicable rules.

Revenue Team to Remain Present
A key feature of the Administration at Your Doorstep programme will be the participation of the revenue department team.
Officials will be available at the camps to examine local issues and take action within their authority. This is expected to make grievance handling more accessible for residents across Hata’s villages.
Mayank Tripathi Takes Charge of Hata SDM Responsibilities
The initiative comes after a change in the administrative responsibility of Hata tehsil.
Following the transfer of SDM Yogeshwar Singh, the responsibility of Hata SDM has been assigned to 2025-batch trainee IAS officer and Joint Magistrate Mayank Tripathi.
The village outreach programme will give the newly assigned administration an opportunity to directly engage with residents and understand their concerns at the local level.
Bringing Administration Closer to Villagers
The ‘Administration at Your Doorstep’ programme seeks to take grievance redressal closer to citizens instead of requiring residents to approach government offices for every issue.
The twice-weekly camps will cover different villages in Hata tehsil, allowing residents to interact directly with the administration and revenue officials.
The effectiveness of the initiative will depend on how many eligible complaints can be resolved during the camps and how effectively pending matters are followed up. For rural residents, however, the programme creates a more accessible channel to place their concerns before the local administration closer to home.
