UPSIDA Emphasises Timely Implementation
UPSIDA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Balkar Singh (IAS: 2004: UP), said the approvals reflected investor interest in the state’s warehousing and logistics sector.
“UPSIDA is continuously working towards establishing Uttar Pradesh as one of the country’s leading warehousing and logistics hubs. The approval of 75 projects with a proposed investment of approximately Rs 14,600 crore clearly reflects the growing confidence of investors in the warehousing and logistics sector in Uttar Pradesh,” he said.
He said the authority was working to help investors access incentives available under state government policies through a straightforward and transparent approval process.
“UPSIDA’s priority is not merely to approve investment proposals, but also to actively facilitate their timely implementation on the ground,” Dr Singh said.
The state’s Warehousing and Logistics Policy-2022 provides a framework for attracting investment in storage and logistics facilities. Policy incentives and financial assistance are intended to encourage the establishment of such units.
Uttar Pradesh’s expressway network, industrial corridors and rail and air connectivity are also among the factors highlighted by the state in promoting logistics-sector investment.
Dr Singh said UPSIDA would continue working to expand investment opportunities and develop modern warehousing, silo and distribution infrastructure, with the stated objective of strengthening supply chains and supporting the state’s ambition to become a $1 trillion economy.
