Noida: The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has stepped up efforts to improve industrial infrastructure at the Surajpur Industrial Area, with a focus on roads, drainage, power supply, maintenance and faster resolution of issues faced by industrial units.

UPSIDA Chief Executive Officer Balkar Singh, a 2004-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, inspected the industrial area on Monday and reviewed existing infrastructure, ongoing development works and facilities supporting industrial operations.

The inspection comes as Uttar Pradesh continues to strengthen industrial infrastructure as part of its broader investment-promotion strategy and the state’s goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy.

Focus on Infrastructure and Maintenance

During the inspection, the UPSIDA CEO reviewed the progress of development and maintenance works and directed officials to complete projects within the prescribed timelines and quality standards.

Key areas reviewed included:

  • Annual maintenance works
  • Cleaning and upkeep of drainage systems
  • Maintenance of parks
  • Landscaping and beautification
  • Civil infrastructure
  • Electricity supply to industrial units

Officials were directed to ensure that infrastructure works are completed according to prescribed standards, with emphasis on both quality and timely execution.

Power Supply and Investor Grievances

UPSIDA also focused on ensuring reliable electricity for industrial units in the area.

The Senior Manager (Electrical) was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply and address complaints related to electricity on a priority basis.

The concerned Regional Manager was also asked to regularly review pending cases on the Nivesh Mitra portal and facilitate their early disposal.

The portal is an important component of Uttar Pradesh’s single-window system for businesses and investors.

Industrial Plot Allotment to Be Kept Transparent

The authority also issued directions concerning the management and allotment of industrial plots.

Officials were asked to maintain transparency in the allotment process and identify vacant plots in the industrial area so that further action could be taken according to applicable rules.

The move is aimed at ensuring better utilisation of industrial land and supporting future investment activity.

UPSIDA CEO Meets Industrial Associations

Following the site inspection, Balkar Singh held a meeting with representatives of local industrial associations and entrepreneurs.

Industry representatives raised issues and shared suggestions concerning the functioning of the industrial area. The UPSIDA chief directed officials to examine the matters and take appropriate action for their timely resolution.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the authority to receive feedback directly from businesses operating in the area.

Push for Better Industrial Ecosystem

The inspection and subsequent meeting form part of UPSIDA’s efforts to improve the operating environment for industries across Uttar Pradesh.

The authority is focusing on better physical infrastructure, responsive investor services and efficient utilisation of industrial areas to support the state’s wider industrial development and investment objectives.

The emphasis on infrastructure maintenance and speedy grievance resolution is also intended to make industrial areas more attractive for existing businesses as well as potential investors.
