Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Government’s Department of Science and Technology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Automation Anywhere, a global company specialising in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Agentic Automation, Intelligent Automation and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
The partnership aims to strengthen Gujarat’s AI ecosystem by promoting AI awareness, youth training, capacity building and collaboration between the government, industry and academic institutions.
The MoU was signed in Gandhinagar by Automation Anywhere Co-Founder and COO Ankur Kothari and Gujarat Minister of Science and Technology Arjun Modhwadia.
Gujarat to Expand AI and ML Training Across the State
Speaking on the occasion, Science and Technology Minister Arjun Modhwadia said the partnership would further strengthen Gujarat’s AI ecosystem.
He noted that during the 80th Independence Day celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a programme aimed at providing AI training to around 1 crore youth across the country.
Under the guidance of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state has entered into this partnership to expand AI awareness and capacity building across Gujarat.
The programmes will target a wide range of participants, including:
- Students and youth
- Government officers and employees
- MSMEs
- Startups
- Academic institutions
- Other stakeholders across Gujarat

₹100 Crore Support Over 10 Years
As part of the agreement, Automation Anywhere will provide approximately ₹100 crore in financial support over a period of 10 years.
The funding will support youth training, capacity building and initiatives related to AI and emerging technologies.
Automation Anywhere will also provide resources and expertise to support the implementation of the programmes.
Automation Anywhere to Provide AI Training, Mentors and Certification
Under the partnership, Automation Anywhere will support training programmes in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and emerging technologies.
The company will provide:
- Trainers
- Subject Matter Experts
- Mentors
- Training curricula
- Learning and educational content
- A certification framework
The trainers, subject matter experts and mentors will be provided by Automation Anywhere at its own cost.
This support is expected to help participants gain both theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of AI and automation technologies.
Trainees to Get Access to Automation Platform
The partnership will also provide trainees with access to Community Edition licences of Automation Anywhere’s no-code and low-code Automation Success Platform.
The access will enable participants to gain practical experience with automation technologies and develop skills relevant to emerging technology-driven workplaces.
The initiative is expected to strengthen the connection between training and practical application, particularly for students, youth, startups and MSMEs.
Gujarat Government to Coordinate Training Programmes
The Department of Science and Technology will coordinate with various stakeholders to implement the programmes across the state.
These stakeholders will include:
- Government departments
- Academic and educational institutions
- Youth organisations
- Industry organisations
- Startups
- Other relevant stakeholders
Wherever possible, the State Government will provide venues and necessary infrastructure for conducting training programmes.
The collaboration will include different formats such as training programmes, workshops, seminars, webinars, boot camps and certification courses.
MoU to Strengthen Gujarat’s Emerging Technology Workforce
The partnership is expected to create a larger pool of skilled professionals in AI, Machine Learning, automation and other emerging technologies.
It will also increase awareness and adoption of emerging technologies among students, government employees, MSMEs and startups.
The collaboration is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the government, industry and academic sectors, while preparing Gujarat’s workforce for the growing demand for AI and technology skills.
Officials Present at MoU Signing
Several senior officials and representatives were present during the signing ceremony.
Those attending included Kavita Shah, Director of ICT and e-Governance in the Department of Science and Technology; Sanjay Rohtagi, Senior Vice-President-APJ, Automation Anywhere; and Neville Shukla, Strategy Business Director.
The signing marks another step towards expanding AI education, training and capacity building opportunities for Gujarat’s youth and strengthening the state’s emerging technology ecosystem.
