Lucknow: On the occasion of National Technology Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued a special message to the people of the state, highlighting India’s scientific achievements, technological progress, and the growing role of youth in innovation.
He emphasized that technology is not just a tool for development but a key pillar of a self-reliant India.
Remembering Operation Shakti and India’s Scientific Milestones
The Chief Minister recalled the significance of May 11, 1998, when India successfully conducted the Pokhran nuclear tests under Operation Shakti, demonstrating its scientific and strategic strength.
He also mentioned other landmark achievements of that day, including:
- Successful flight of indigenous aircraft Hansa-3
- Successful testing of Trishul missile
He said these milestones reflect India’s growing self-confidence in science and technology.
Technology Reaching Villages and Everyday Life
CM Yogi highlighted how technology has moved beyond laboratories and is now transforming rural life, agriculture, and governance.
He noted key advancements such as:
- Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for welfare schemes
- Digital governance and online services
- Simplified administrative processes
- Digital self-services for citizens
These developments, he said, have made governance more transparent and efficient.
Tribute to Indian Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla
The Chief Minister also mentioned the achievements of Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, stating that his success in space missions has brought pride to Uttar Pradesh and the entire nation.
He said such achievements inspire the youth to pursue careers in science and technology.
Uttar Pradesh’s Vision as a Deep Tech Hub
CM Yogi stated that Uttar Pradesh is rapidly moving toward becoming a Deep Tech Capital, with a strong focus on:
- Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Data centre cluster development
- Drone technology
- Quantum technology
- Green hydrogen and med-tech sectors
He also highlighted initiatives like the “Tech Youth–Empowered Youth” programme for skill development.
Industrial and Defence Technology Growth in UP
The Chief Minister noted that Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a major hub for industrial and defence technology, including the production of advanced systems like the BrahMos missile.
He said this reflects the state’s growing role in India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.
Youth Urged to Embrace Innovation and Technology
In his concluding message, CM Yogi urged young people to actively adopt new technologies and innovation.
He stated that staying away from technology means falling behind in the modern world and encouraged youth to contribute to building a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh and India.
