Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial assistance worth nearly ₹16 crore for various development projects, disaster relief measures, and public welfare initiatives across Uttarakhand. The decision is being seen as a significant step toward strengthening infrastructure, supporting disaster-affected families, and honoring martyrs.
Relief Aid for Disaster-Affected Families
In response to damage caused on August 5, 2025, due to partial obstruction in the Yamuna River, a temporary lake formed in the Syanachatti region, affecting properties in Gram Kunshala. The Chief Minister has sanctioned ₹61.09 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for 19 affected hotel and building owners.
Additionally, families impacted by heavy rainfall and landslides in Tehri Garhwal district—including the tehsils of Dhanaulti, Tehri, Pratapnagar, Jakhnidhar, and Madannegi—will receive rental assistance. A total of ₹19.28 lakh has been approved, providing ₹4,000 per month per family for six months.
₹13 Crore Untied Fund for District Development
Under the financial year 2026–27 budget provisions, the Chief Minister has approved the release of ₹13 crore as untied funds for all districts. This funding will allow local administrations to prioritize and execute development works based on regional needs, ensuring faster and more flexible implementation.
Infrastructure Boost: Sewer Projects in Dehradun
To improve urban infrastructure, ₹2.43 crore has been sanctioned for sewer-related works in Dehradun. The approved projects include:
- Replacement of sewer lines in Shraddha Enclave (Pitthuwala branch area)
- Construction of Sewage Pumping Stations (SPS) in Sandhu Enclave and Priyadarshini Enclave
These initiatives aim to enhance sanitation systems and urban living standards in the region.
ITI Renamed to Honor Martyr Revadhar
In a move to honor the sacrifice of a soldier, the government has approved renaming the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Khetikhan. The institute will now be known as:
“Shaheed Revadhar Government Industrial Training Institute, Khetikhan”
This decision reflects the state’s commitment to recognizing and commemorating its martyrs.
