Haridwar: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday attended the 71st Sanyas Jayanti Mahotsav of Pujya Sadgurudev Bhagwan at Akhand Param Dham, located in Sapta Sarovar, highlighting the state government’s dual focus on infrastructure development and preservation of spiritual heritage.

Development Push Under PM Narendra Modi’s Leadership

Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami credited the leadership of Narendra Modi for driving Uttarakhand’s growth. He stated that the government is committed to the continuous development of both Kedarkhand and Manaskhand regions.

“Our government is working dedicatedly for the overall development of Uttarakhand,” he said, underlining the importance of balancing modernization with cultural and spiritual values.

Major Redevelopment Projects at Key Pilgrimage Sites

The Chief Minister highlighted significant infrastructure upgrades at major religious destinations:

  • Badrinath Temple is undergoing rapid development under a comprehensive master plan, aimed at transforming it into a more grand and accessible pilgrimage site.
  • Kedarnath Temple has been extensively redeveloped following the devastation caused by the 2013 Uttarakhand floods, emerging today as a revitalized and divine destination for devotees.

Dhami noted that Kedarnath, once severely damaged, now stands as a symbol of resilience and spiritual strength.

Presence of Prominent Spiritual Leaders

The event saw participation from several renowned spiritual figures, including Swami Chidanand Saraswati of Parmarth Niketan and yoga guru Ramdev, along with other dignitaries and devotees.

CM Dhami Extends Wishes on Akshaya Tritiya

Earlier in the day, CM Dhami greeted citizens on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, which was celebrated on April 19 this year.

In his message shared on social media, he wished for happiness, prosperity, and success for all, describing the festival as a symbol of good fortune and new beginnings. Akshaya Tritiya is widely considered an auspicious time for starting new ventures, making investments, and purchasing gold or property.

Uttarakhand Strengthens Position as Spiritual Tourism Hub

With ongoing infrastructure projects and renewed focus on pilgrimage destinations, Uttarakhand continues to strengthen its identity as a major spiritual tourism hub. The government’s initiatives aim to improve connectivity, enhance visitor experience, and boost the local economy through religious tourism.
