Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring 10 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and one Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, with immediate effect. The latest administrative overhaul involves changes across several key departments, including School Education, Transport, Information Technology, Excise, Finance, Panchayati Raj and Sugarcane Development.
According to the official notification, the transferred officers have been relieved of their existing responsibilities and assigned new portfolios to strengthen governance and streamline administrative functioning across the state.
Key Changes Across Departments
Among the prominent changes, Lalrinliana Fanai (IAS:1997) has been relieved of the charge of the Excise Department while continuing to hold his other existing responsibilities.
Nitesh Kumar Jha (IAS:2002) has been shifted from the Information Technology, SURAJ and Science & Technology Department and appointed as Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department.
Ravinath Raman (IAS:2004) has been entrusted with the Transport Department and appointed Commissioner, Transport, after being relieved of the School Education portfolio.
Meanwhile, Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey (IAS:2005) has been appointed Secretary, Information Technology, SURAJ and Science & Technology Department.
Excise, Sugarcane and Finance Departments Get New Secretaries
The government has also made significant changes in departments dealing with revenue and agriculture.
Brijesh Kumar Sant (IAS:2006) has been assigned the Excise Department, replacing his earlier transport-related responsibilities.
Dr Surendra Narayan Pandey (IAS:2007) has been appointed Secretary, Sugarcane Development and Sugar Department.
Ranveer Singh Chauhan (IAS:2009) has been given charge of the Finance Department after being relieved of his responsibilities in the Sugarcane Development and Sugar Department.
Jyoti Yadav Posted as School Education Secretary
One of the notable appointments in the reshuffle is that of Jyoti Yadav (IAS:2009).
The officer, who had been awaiting posting, has now been appointed Secretary, School Education (Primary and Secondary).
The appointment comes as the government seeks to strengthen leadership in the state’s education sector.
Further Administrative Changes
Yugal Kishore Pant (IAS:2009) has been transferred to the Secretariat Administration Department.
In the Indian Forest Service, Dr Parag Madhukar Dhakate (IFS) has been relieved of certain responsibilities relating to the Panchayati Raj Department.
Additionally, Abhishek Ruhela (IAS:2015) has been appointed Additional Secretary, State Property Department, along with the responsibility of State Property Officer.
Immediate Implementation Ordered
The government has directed all officers concerned to immediately assume charge of their new assignments and submit compliance reports without delay.
The reshuffle is expected to strengthen administrative coordination across departments while ensuring more effective implementation of government programmes and public service delivery.
