Dehradun: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Uttarakhand government transferred 16 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and 8 Provincial Police Service (PPS) officers late Monday evening. The order, aimed at strengthening law enforcement and administrative efficiency in the state, was issued by Additional Secretary Apoorva Pandey.
Major District Chiefs Reposted
The reshuffle also saw changes in the leadership of four key districts: Nainital, Pauri Garhwal, Chamoli, and Uttarkashi.
- Nainital: Prahlad Narayan Meena has been removed from the post of SSP, Nainital, and transferred to the SP Vigilance Headquarters. Manjunath T.C. has been appointed as the new SSP of Nainital.
- Pauri Garhwal: Sarvesh Panwar, earlier posted in Chamoli, has been appointed Senior Superintendent of Police of Pauri Garhwal.
- Chamoli: Surjeet Singh Panwar is now the Superintendent of Police of Chamoli.
- Uttarkashi: Sarita Dobal has been removed from SP, Uttarkashi, and appointed as SP, Intelligence Headquarters.
Key IPS Transfers
Several senior IPS officers have been reassigned to new roles:
- Dr. P.V.K. Prasad: From Director of Prosecution to Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence and Security).
- Abhinav Kumar: From ADG, Prisons to Director of Prosecution.
- A.P. Anshuman: Appointed as ADG, Head of the Forensic Science Laboratory.
- Nilesh Anand Bharne: Assigned IG, Cyber, STF, and ANTF.
- Shankar Anant Takwale: Appointed IG, Human Rights.
- Sunil Kumar Meena: Now IG, Crime, Law and Order, and GRP.
Key PPS Transfers
Notable changes among PPS officers include:
- ASP Haldwani: Prakash Chandra transferred to PTC Narendranagar; Manoj Kumar Katyal appointed as the new ASP, Haldwani.
- Swapan Kishore Singh: From STF to ASP, Kashipur.
- Pankaj Gairola: Transferred from ASP Haridwar to ASP Vikasnagar.
- Renu Lohani: Appointed Deputy Commander, IRB II, Dehradun.
- Kamla Bisht: Additional responsibility as ASP Vigilance, Nainital, along with ASP CID Sector, Haldwani.
Government Directives
The Uttarakhand government has instructed all officers to immediately assume charge of their new positions. Copies of the charge certificates are to be submitted to the government via the Director General of Police.
This major reshuffle is seen as an effort to make the police system more effective, responsive, and systematic, especially in key districts with strategic importance.
