Railway Board Approves Vinod Kumar Gautam’s Immediate Absorption in DFCCIL 

The permanent Railway officer’s absorption is effective from August 19, 2026, with his DFCCIL service governed by the organisation’s rules and applicable pension and retirement benefits.

New Delhi: Vinod Kumar Gautam, IRSME, has been immediately absorbed in Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) following the Railway Board’s order dated September 7, 2026.

The absorption is effective from August 19, 2026 (FN). The Railway Board has conveyed the President’s sanction for his immediate absorption from Railway service into DFCCIL.

Railway Board Approves Immediate Absorption of Vinod Kumar Gautam

Vinod Kumar Gautam is a permanent Railway officer, and his absorption in DFCCIL will be governed by the terms and conditions prescribed by the Ministry of Railways for immediate absorption.

With the move, Gautam will become part of DFCCIL and will be governed by the organisation’s service rules.

Gautam to be Governed by DFCCIL Service Rules

Following his absorption, Vinod Kumar Gautam will be governed by DFCCIL’s service rules and will be treated at par with other employees of the organisation.

He will also be free to negotiate his emoluments with DFCCIL. For the period of his service in DFCCIL from the date of absorption, he will be entitled to benefits applicable to corresponding employees of the organisation.

Pension and Retirement Benefits for Railway Service

The order also specifies provisions related to Gautam’s pension and retirement benefits for the service rendered under the Railways.

For his Railway service, he will receive pension and pro-rata retirement gratuity in accordance with the Railway Services (Pension) Rules, 2026.

He will also be eligible for pension-related benefits, including:

  • Pension commutation: Up to 40% of pension
  • Leave encashment: Up to 300 days, subject to applicable rules
  • Retirement gratuity: Pro-rata retirement gratuity for Railway service

Provident Fund Benefits Also Covered

The service conditions also provide for the possible transfer of Gautam’s State Railway Provident Fund balance along with applicable interest to a DFCCIL Provident Fund account.

Such transfer will be subject to the applicable provisions and the consent of DFCCIL.

Absorption Formalises Move from Railways to DFCCIL

The Railway Board’s order formally completes the process of Vinod Kumar Gautam’s immediate absorption from Railway service into DFCCIL.

His service in DFCCIL will now be governed by the organisation’s rules, while the order safeguards the applicable pension, gratuity, leave encashment and provident fund provisions for his earlier Railway service.
