New Delhi: Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) has appointed K.M. Ravi Kumar as Non-Official (Independent) Director with effect from September 7, 2026.
The Government of India undertaking disclosed the appointment under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. Kumar has been appointed for a term of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

K.M. Ravi Kumar brings 38 years of experience in structural fabrication to the MDL board.
He holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from R V College of Engineering, Bengaluru.
His professional expertise includes manufacturing materials using mild steel and managing end-to-end operations related to structural fabrication.
His areas of expertise include:
- Fabrication planning
- Structural fabrication
- Manufacturing using mild steel
- Quality assurance
- End-to-end operational management
MDL Confirms Regulatory and Director Eligibility
As part of the appointment disclosure, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders confirmed that Kumar is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any order of SEBI or any other statutory authority.
The company also stated that there are no relationships between the directors requiring disclosure in connection with the appointment.

The appointment follows a previous communication issued by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders on August 24, 2026.
The latest disclosure regarding Kumar’s appointment was signed by Lalatendu Acharya, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited. The appointment adds extensive structural fabrication and manufacturing experience to the company’s board at a time when MDL continues to focus on shipbuilding and defence-related manufacturing activities.
