Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh is set to strengthen its digital infrastructure with a ₹26,910-crore data centre and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure hub in Jewar, with the first phase planned to have a capacity of 384 MW.
The project, being developed by AM Group in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area, will cover 114 acres. The first phase is targeted for commissioning in 2028 and forms part of a larger plan to establish a 1 GW high-performance computing and AI infrastructure hub by 2030.
₹26,910 Crore Phase-I Investment
According to information shared by Awanish K Awasthi, Adviser to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and former Chief Secretary, the Phase-I facility will involve:
- Investment: ₹26,910 crore
- Location: Sector 28, YEIDA, Jewar
- Land area: 114 acres
- Initial capacity: 384 MW
- Target commissioning: 2028
- Overall planned capacity: 1 GW
- Full commissioning target: 2030

The development is expected to add to the emerging technology and digital infrastructure ecosystem around Jewar and Greater Noida.
Part of Larger 1 GW AI Compute Hub
The Jewar facility is part of AM Group’s broader plan, announced earlier in an agreement with Invest UP, to establish a 1 GW high-performance compute hub in the Greater Noida region.
The wider project carries an estimated investment of around US$25 billion and is planned to be developed in phases, with initial computing capacity expected from 2028 and the full 1 GW facility targeted by 2030.
The planned infrastructure is designed to support:
- Global hyperscale cloud companies
- AI research laboratories
- Large enterprises
- India’s sovereign AI initiatives
- Indian developers and businesses requiring high-performance computing
AM Group has also indicated plans for around 5 lakh high-performance chipsets as part of the broader AI infrastructure initiative.
24/7 Carbon-Free Power for AI Computing
The proposed facility is expected to use 24/7 carbon-free electricity, drawing on renewable sources including wind and solar, along with pumped-storage projects.
This is particularly significant for AI and high-performance computing facilities, which require large amounts of uninterrupted electricity as well as substantial cooling infrastructure.
The integration of renewable generation with energy storage is intended to support reliable power supply while reducing dependence on conventional fossil-fuel-based electricity.
Jewar Emerges as Digital Infrastructure Hub
The project adds to Uttar Pradesh’s efforts to position the Jewar-Greater Noida region as a major destination for data centres, AI infrastructure and technology-led investment.
The broader AM Group project was announced in January 2026 through an MoU with Invest UP for a 1 GW high-performance computing hub. The company said the facility would support global AI workloads while using carbon-free energy solutions.
With the first 384 MW phase now planned across 114 acres in Jewar, the project is expected to become a major component of Uttar Pradesh’s expanding digital infrastructure ecosystem.
