Gautam Buddha Nagar: Escorts Kubota Limited has broken ground on a new greenfield manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh, marking the beginning of a phased investment of more than ₹2,000 crore in a 154-acre site at Sector 10 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) industrial area.
The facility is expected to become one of the largest manufacturing sites within the Kubota Group globally once fully developed. It will manufacture tractors, farm implements, construction equipment and engines for both Indian and international markets.
Phase 1 to Add 75,000 Units of Annual Capacity
The first phase of the project will add capacity for up to 60,000 tractors and 15,000 construction equipment units annually, along with supporting and allied infrastructure.
Key Project Highlights:
- Investment: More than ₹2,000 crore
- Location: Sector 10, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh
- Industrial zone: YEIDA
- Land area: 154 acres
- Phase 1 tractor capacity: Up to 60,000 units annually
- Phase 1 construction equipment capacity: Up to 15,000 units annually
- Products: Tractors, farm implements, construction equipment and engines
- Markets: Domestic and global
- Development: Multiple phases
Integrated Manufacturing Campus Planned
The facility is being designed as an integrated manufacturing campus, bringing several key operations together at a single location.
The planned infrastructure includes:
- Machining
- Assembly
- Testing
- Engine manufacturing
- Central spare-parts warehouse
- Supporting and allied facilities
The company also plans to incorporate the Kubota Production System, automation and digital quality-control systems into the facility, alongside energy-efficient utilities and safety measures.
Existing Capacity to Get Major Expansion
Escorts Kubota currently has manufacturing capacity of approximately 1.70 lakh tractors and 10,000 construction equipment units per year. The new facility will significantly expand its production base as successive phases are developed.
The project is being funded through proceeds from the earlier preferential share issue to Kubota Corporation and the company’s internal accruals.
India to Become Kubota’s Global Manufacturing Hub
The project is aligned with Kubota Corporation’s Mid-Term Business Plan 2030, which identifies India as one of the group’s growth drivers and envisages the country as a global manufacturing hub.
Kubota Corporation President and CEO Shingo Hanada said, “India is no longer only a market for Kubota. It is becoming a manufacturing and engineering hub for Kubota globally.”
The facility’s location in the YEIDA industrial area, near the Yamuna Expressway and the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, is also expected to support connectivity for domestic distribution and exports.
Plant to Serve Farmers and Construction Sector
Escorts Kubota CMD Nikhil Nanda said the investment represents a significant expansion of the company’s manufacturing capabilities.
The facility is expected to serve farmers and construction contractors across India while also supporting the company’s international markets.
As the project develops, it is also expected to strengthen the surrounding supplier and industrial ecosystem in the National Capital Region.
UP Strengthens Manufacturing and Investment Push
The greenfield plant adds to Uttar Pradesh’s growing industrial activity around the YEIDA region. The 154-acre site was allotted to Escorts Kubota earlier this year, following the company’s agreement with the state government for the project.
With construction now underway, the project is set to expand Uttar Pradesh’s manufacturing footprint while supporting India’s broader ambition of becoming a global manufacturing and engineering hub.
