Mumbai: Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI) has appointed Bharati Raman Gotarna as a Non-Official (Independent) Director on its Board, effective August 19, 2026.

The company disclosed the appointment in a filing with the stock exchanges on August 20, 2026, in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The appointment was subject to the completion of the required statutory formalities, including her registration with the Independent Directors Databank. Following completion of the requisite formalities, her appointment as a Non-Official (Independent) Director on the SCI Board became effective from August 19, 2026.

Ms. Bharati Raman Gotarna has joined the SCI Board as a Non-Official (Independent) Director following the completion of the necessary regulatory and statutory requirements.

Her appointment comes with a background of more than 12 years of field experience, including approximately 10 years of dedicated social work. She has been actively involved with grassroots communities and has worked closely with residents and community groups on welfare, awareness and local development initiatives.

The company’s disclosure also confirmed that Ms. Bharati Raman Gotarna is not related to any existing director of SCI. It further stated that she is not debarred from holding the office of director by virtue of any SEBI order or any other authority.
