New Delhi: The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has received approval to extend the additional charge of Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh (Retd.) as Director (Technical & Offshore Services) for another three months.
The extension has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and will be effective from September 1, 2026.
Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh will continue handling the Technical & Offshore Services portfolio until November 30, 2026, or until the regular incumbent assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh to Continue Additional Charge
Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh currently serves as Director (Liner & Passenger Services) at SCI. He initially assumed the additional charge of Director (Technical & Offshore Services) on June 1, 2026.
The latest extension will ensure leadership continuity in the Technical & Offshore Services division during the interim period.

Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh’s Leadership Experience
Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh brings more than 35 years of distinguished experience in the Indian Navy to his role at SCI.
During his naval career, he held several senior leadership and strategic positions, including:
- Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command
- Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Foreign Cooperation)
His extensive experience in maritime operations and leadership has also contributed to his responsibilities across SCI’s business verticals.
Previous Roles and Directorships at SCI
Before taking up his current portfolio, Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh handled SCI’s Bulk and Tanker businesses, serving as Director until May 4, 2026.
He has also held positions on the boards of several shipping-related entities, including:
- SCI Bharat IFSC Ltd. — Director until February 23, 2026
- Inland and Coastal Shipping Ltd. — Director
- Sethusamudram Corporation Ltd. — Director
His experience across different segments of the maritime and shipping sector adds to his leadership profile at SCI.
Educational Qualifications and Recognition
Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh holds a postgraduate degree in Business Administration.
He is also an alumnus of the:
- Naval Postgraduate School, California
- Defence Services Staff College, Wellington
For his distinguished service in the Indian Navy, he was awarded the Nau Sena Medal.
SCI Makes Regulatory Disclosure
SCI disclosed the extension under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The company reported the event on August 18, 2026, at 11:00 PM.
The disclosure also stated that Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh is not related to any other director of the company and is not debarred from holding office by SEBI or any other statutory authority.
Extension to Ensure Continuity in Technical and Offshore Services
The three-month extension allows SCI to maintain continuity in its Technical & Offshore Services portfolio while the company awaits the assumption of charge by the regular incumbent.
With his experience in naval leadership and multiple shipping-related responsibilities, Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh will continue overseeing the additional portfolio alongside his existing responsibilities as Director (Liner & Passenger Services).
