Raigarh: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has inaugurated the newly developed ‘Sindoor Park’ in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, built at a cost of ₹9.87 crore under the state’s governance and urban development initiative. The project aims to transform a once-neglected area into a modern public recreation and green zone.
The park was inaugurated in the Itwari Bazaar area during the state’s governance festival initiative, “Sushasan Tihar.”
From Neglected Space to Modern Urban Attraction
The Sindoor Park site was earlier known for poor sanitation, disorder, and unauthorized activities. It has now been redeveloped into a well-planned public space featuring greenery, infrastructure, and recreational facilities for citizens.

Rani Zindagi Memorial and Patriotic Symbolism
A special section of the park includes the Rezang La Memorial, dedicated to the bravery of Indian soldiers and inspired by national patriotic themes. The memorial is intended to honor the sacrifices of armed forces personnel and promote national pride among visitors.
Named After ‘Operation Sindoor’ Inspiration
The name ‘Sindoor Park’ has been linked to the inspiration drawn from “Operation Sindoor,” symbolizing national security and anti-terror operations following the Pahalgam incident.
The initiative reflects the government’s effort to blend urban development with cultural and patriotic identity. The inauguration of Sindoor Park marks a significant step in Raigarh’s urban transformation. With modern infrastructure, recreational facilities, and cultural symbolism, the park is expected to become a key public attraction and a model for future urban development projects in Chhattisgarh.
