Raipur: A grand Karma Mahotsav and mass marriage ceremony held in Gram Bharar (Jamgaon-R), Durg district of Chhattisgarh, turned into a vibrant celebration of social unity and tradition, where Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai blessed 13 newly married couples and extended his best wishes for their prosperous future.
CM Attends Karma Mahotsav and Mass Wedding Ceremony
The event showcased strong cultural heritage and community participation. The Chief Minister personally attended the mass wedding ceremony and blessed all 13 couples, wishing them a happy and successful married life.
He praised the event as a strong example of social harmony and traditional values.
₹60 Lakh Development Announced for Local Infrastructure
During the programme, CM Vishnu Deo Sai announced several development projects worth ₹60 lakh for the region:
- ₹50 lakh for construction of a shed at Sahu Samaj Bhawan, Patan
- ₹10 lakh for construction of toilets, sheds, and a CC road in Gram Bharar Panchayat
These initiatives are expected to improve local infrastructure and support community development.
Tribute to Sahu Community and Maa Karma
In his address, the Chief Minister described the Sahu community as one of the largest and most respected communities in Chhattisgarh. He highlighted the spiritual legacy of Maa Karma, stating that her devotion and service continue to inspire society.
He also paid tribute to late leader Tarachand Sahu and shared his personal experiences associated with him.
Welfare Schemes Driving State Development
The Chief Minister outlined key achievements of the state government over the past 28 months, stating that governance reforms and welfare schemes have significantly improved public services.
Major highlights include:
- 18 lakh families receiving benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
- Paddy procurement at ₹3100 per quintal along with bonus clearance for farmers
- Monthly financial assistance to women under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana
Women beneficiaries are increasingly using the support to start small businesses such as tailoring, handicrafts, and grocery shops.
Religious Tourism and Development Initiatives
Under the Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, around 42,000 people have benefited in the past two years. The Chief Minister also highlighted development progress and reduction in Naxal-related challenges in the Bastar region.
Energy Relief and Digital Expansion Schemes
The government has launched the Chief Minister Electricity Bill Settlement Scheme 2026, offering 100% waiver on interest and penalties for pending electricity bills.
Through the Mor Bijli App, citizens can register and check eligibility for benefits. Additionally, Atal Digital Centres are being set up across villages to expand digital access.
Focus on Farmers, Governance and Transparency
The government continues to support farmers through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies by ensuring timely supply of seeds and fertilizers.
CM Sai emphasized that strict action against corruption and stronger governance systems have accelerated development across the state.

The event witnessed participation from several dignitaries including MP Vijay Baghel, Commissioner Satyanarayan Rathore, Collector Abhijit Singh, District Sahu Union President Nandlal Sahu, and other public representatives.
