The state government of Maharashtra has appointed senior IPS officer Ashutosh Dumbre as the new Thane police commissioner. An order related to this was issued by the state home department on Monday. Mr. Dumre will be replacing Jaijeet Singh, who will now be the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
An IPS officer of 1994 batch, Mr. Dumre is currently serving as commissioner in the State Intelligence Department (SID). This will be his second posting in Thane. Earlier, he was posted here as the joint police commissioner.
In his decades long career, Mr. Dumra has also been appointed as Mumbai’s joint commissioner of crime and Economic Offences Wing (EOW). He also gave his service as the ADGP, Anti-Corruption Bureau. The officer has also been awarded with the President’s Police Medal For Distinguished Service in 2021.
