Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday distributed appointment letters to newly selected audit officers in Lucknow and highlighted major governance and financial reforms undertaken in the state since 2017.

Speaking at the appointment distribution ceremony for candidates selected in the Cooperative Societies and Panchayat Audit Department, the Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh has undergone a “historic transformation” and has emerged as a revenue surplus state.

Major Transformation in Uttar Pradesh Since 2017

CM Yogi Adityanath said the difference between Uttar Pradesh before and after 2017 is clearly visible in every sector.

He stated that:

  • Law and order improvement has been a top priority
  • Strong financial discipline has been implemented
  • Unplanned and non-budgetary spending has been eliminated

He added that without strict fiscal control, Uttar Pradesh would not have moved beyond its earlier “BIMARU state” image.

Strong Fiscal Management and Economic Growth

The Chief Minister emphasized that disciplined financial management has been central to the state’s development model.

He cited major infrastructure projects, including:

  • The Ganga Expressway spanning nearly 600 km
  • Investment of over ₹42,000 crore in large infrastructure initiatives
  • Development of nine industrial and logistics hubs

He said such projects are now attracting direct investment interest from banks and financial institutions, reflecting improved economic credibility.

Criticism of Past Governments and Focus on Transparency

CM Yogi criticized previous governments for financial mismanagement and alleged corruption in large projects.

He cited examples of cost overruns, including incomplete infrastructure projects, and said such inefficiencies have been corrected under the current administration.

He also claimed that earlier recruitment processes were affected by irregularities and paper leaks, which have now been fully controlled through a transparent system.

Merit-Based Recruitment and Ending Paper Leak Culture

Highlighting reforms in recruitment, the Chief Minister said the government has ensured fair and merit-based selection.

He stated:

  • Paper leaks have been effectively stopped
  • Recruitment is now fully transparent
  • Selection is based only on merit

He added that candidates from all communities and regions have been selected without bias.

Women Empowerment and Inclusive Selection

CM Yogi noted that a large number of women candidates have been selected in the current recruitment process.

He said this reflects:

  • Strengthening of women empowerment in Uttar Pradesh
  • Equal opportunity for girls in government jobs
  • Elimination of discrimination in recruitment

He emphasized that “no one can stop the progress of daughters now.”

Social Representation in Recruitment

The Chief Minister also highlighted diversity in selections, stating that candidates from different communities and regions, including rural and minority backgrounds, have been appointed.

He said this reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive governance and equal opportunity.

The appointment distribution ceremony marked another step in Uttar Pradesh’s ongoing administrative reforms. CM Yogi Adityanath reiterated that strong governance, financial discipline, and transparent recruitment have transformed the state into a growing economic powerhouse with improved investor confidence and social inclusion.
