Saharanpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Saharanpur on Thursday and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 325 development projects worth ₹2,131 crore in the Deoband’s Jadauda Jatt area. The projects cover key sectors including roads, healthcare, education, drinking water, and urban development.

This marks the Chief Minister’s third visit to the district within three months, highlighting the government’s focus on accelerating development in western Uttar Pradesh.

₹2,131 Crore Projects to Boost Infrastructure

During the event, the Chief Minister distributed certificates to beneficiaries and inaugurated a wide range of public welfare schemes.

The 325 projects aim to strengthen basic infrastructure across urban and rural areas, with a focus on balanced regional development and improved living standards.

Officials said the initiatives are designed to ensure long-term growth and improve essential services for the public.

Focus on Roads, Connectivity and Economic Growth

A major portion of the projects is dedicated to road construction and connectivity upgrades.

The Chief Minister said improved road networks will:

  • Enhance transportation facilities
  • Boost trade and industrial growth
  • Generate new employment opportunities

He also highlighted that expressway connectivity, including the Dehradun–Saharanpur–Shamli–Baghpat route, has significantly reduced travel time to Delhi and boosted regional development.

Healthcare, Education and Drinking Water Expansion

The development package includes significant investments in social infrastructure:

Healthcare Improvements

New hospitals, upgraded health centres, and expanded medical facilities will improve access to treatment for residents.

Education Projects

Schools and colleges are being upgraded to enhance educational quality and infrastructure for students.

Drinking Water Supply

New schemes aim to ensure clean and adequate water supply across urban and rural areas.

Saharanpur’s Transformation and Industrial Growth

The Chief Minister said Saharanpur is rapidly transforming into a hub of development, particularly in the field of woodcraft and local industries.

He added that government support has helped local artisans gain international recognition, boosting exports and employment.

Plans for an industrial logistics centre in the region are also expected to attract investment and create jobs.

Law and Order Highlighted as Key Achievement

Yogi Adityanath strongly emphasised improvements in law and order, stating that Uttar Pradesh has become free of mafia influence and large-scale crime.

He contrasted the current situation with the pre-2017 period, when the region faced unrest, migration, and insecurity, according to him.

The Chief Minister said strict action against criminals has helped restore public confidence and stability in the state.

Political Message and Development Push

In his address, the Chief Minister also referred to national and state political developments, stating that voters are increasingly supporting governance based on development and stability.

He criticised divisive politics and said the public now prefers progress-oriented leadership.

Experts believe the visit also carries political significance ahead of future elections, especially in western Uttar Pradesh.

Key Regional Projects and Future Plans

The government also highlighted major ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects:

  • Saharanpur airport nearing completion
  • Maa Shakumbhari University development
  • Sports college in Behat
  • Elevated highway to Maa Shakumbhari Dham
  • Rapid rail and expressway connectivity benefits

These projects are expected to strengthen education, tourism, transport, and investment in the region.

Public Response and Development Outlook

The event saw large public participation, with strong enthusiasm among locals. Residents welcomed the development initiatives and expressed optimism about improved infrastructure and job opportunities.

Officials said the combined focus on infrastructure, connectivity, and welfare schemes reflects the government’s broader vision of integrated regional development.
