Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a high-level review meeting focused on strengthening law and order infrastructure and modernising police facilities across the state.
The Chief Minister reviewed the functioning of the Uttar Pradesh Police Housing Corporation and emphasized the need for timely, high-quality construction of police infrastructure to boost efficiency and morale of police personnel.
Strong Focus on Modern Police Infrastructure Development
CM Yogi Adityanath directed officials to ensure that all construction works related to:
- Police lines
- Police stations
- Barracks
- Fire stations
are completed within deadlines and without compromising on quality or technical standards.
He stressed that modern policing requires strong and advanced infrastructure, and no compromise should be made in construction quality.
233 Ongoing Projects Across 75 Districts
Officials informed the Chief Minister that the Uttar Pradesh Police Housing Corporation is currently active across all 75 districts of the state.
Key highlights include:
- 233 ongoing construction projects
- 221 projects within scheduled timelines
- Execution through 6 major construction units
The Chief Minister instructed that physical monitoring must complement technical supervision to ensure transparency and efficiency.
₹1,104 Crore Worth Projects Completed in Three Years
Between 2023 and May 2026, the corporation completed 1,586 construction works worth approximately ₹1,104 crore.
Major completed infrastructure includes:
- Multi-storey police barracks and transit hostels
- Modern police station buildings and outposts
- Fire stations and GRP barracks
- ATS field units
- Infrastructure projects related to Maha Kumbh 2025
- Improved basic facilities such as women’s amenities in police stations
Emphasis on Third-Party Audit and Real-Time Monitoring
The Chief Minister directed authorities to strengthen transparency through:
- Third-party audits by reputed institutions
- Material testing systems
- Mobile app-based real-time monitoring
These measures aim to ensure accountability and maintain construction quality standards across all projects.
₹11.14 Crore Profit and Financial Stability of Police Housing Corporation
The Uttar Pradesh Police Housing Corporation reported a profit of ₹11.14 crore in FY 2025–26, reflecting financial stability alongside ongoing infrastructure expansion.
Officials stated that the corporation continues to operate in a profitable position while executing large-scale development works.
Recruitment and Infrastructure Expansion Directives
CM Yogi Adityanath also instructed that:
- Vacant posts in the department be filled on a merit basis
- Recruitment processes remain fully transparent
- Future infrastructure should be safe, modern, and operationally efficient
He reiterated that strengthening police infrastructure is essential for effective law enforcement in the state.
