In a unique and thoughtful initiative, Ms. Minal Karanwal, a 2019 batch IAS officer and CEO of Zilaparishad in Nanded, Maharashtra, has launched a campaign encouraging people to donate stationery items such as registers, notebooks, pens, pencils, geometry boxes, sketch pens, and color pencils instead of presenting bouquets to officers.
The donated items will be distributed to children in ZP schools across Nanded.
Ms. Karanwal announced this initiative on social media platform ‘X’, stating, “First day of
‘No bouquet, but please get registers/copies/pen/pencils/geometry box/sketchpen/colour pencils instead’! All this will then continue to go to children in ZP schools!
Reforming gift giving a little in Nanded ZP.”
