Indian Masterminds Stories

The feed of many Netizens was blessed by an image posted by Mr. Parveen Kaswan (2015 batch IFS officer), where the officer can be seen caressing an adorable elephant calf. The young pachyderm named “Gajraj” was extricated by a rescue team after it lost its mother, a tragic start to its life.

The image that went viral on social media shows Officer Kaswan gently petting the elephant calf, who in return lifts its adorable little trunk as a gesture of gratitude. The netizens were further smitten by how the young calf looked even more adorable with delicate paintings adorning its face, a testament to the affection and empathy it received from its human guardians.

The post captioned (by Mr. Kaswan himself) “Gajraj lost his mother and later rescued by our teams. Doing fine now in our camp,” shows Mr. Kaswan feeding the little Jumbo nutritious bananas as a “special treat on Shivratri.” The post has garnered over 82 thousand views and tons of reactions and comments, where netizens thanked Officer Kaswan for his warm-heartedness.

Posts like these go a long way to collectively inspire and elucidate the nation about the resilience of wildlife and the need for wildlife conservation. If not for the efforts of officers like Mr. Parveen Kaswan and the compassion of those dedicated to wildlife protection, the profound missions undertaken by wildlife conservationists for the rehabilitation of vulnerable animals shall cease to bear fruits.
