New Delhi: Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College (NSCBMC), Jabalpur, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to provide free breast cancer screening and treatment facilities to women in Singrauli and Sidhi districts of Madhya Pradesh.
The initiative focuses on early detection, timely diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, particularly for women living in rural and remote areas.
NCL to Provide ₹2.80 Crore CSR Support
Under the MoU, NCL will provide financial support of approximately ₹2.80 crore over two years for the implementation of the breast cancer screening and treatment programme.
The funding will support the operation of a dedicated Breast Cancer Screening Ambulance, which will function as a mobile screening unit.
Key features include:
- Free breast cancer screening for women in rural areas of Singrauli and Sidhi.
- Early detection and identification of suspected cases.
- Referral of women who test positive for further medical examination.
- Treatment support through NSCBMC, Jabalpur.

Mobile Screening Van to Provide Free Services
The special mobile screening van will travel to rural areas of Singrauli and Sidhi districts to improve access to breast cancer screening services. Women identified as positive during the screening process will be referred to NSCBMC, Jabalpur, for further examination and appropriate treatment.
The initiative is aimed at reducing barriers to healthcare access for women living in remote and underserved areas.
Advanced Breast Cancer Surgery Facility at NSCBMC
As part of the MoU, an ICG Fluorescence Guided Precision Surgery facility will also be established at NSCBMC, Jabalpur.
The advanced surgical facility is expected to strengthen the medical college’s capabilities for precision-based breast cancer surgery.
NCL will bear the cost of the first 500 surgeries free of charge for needy women under the initiative.
Focus on Early Detection and Timely Treatment
The CSR initiative aims to improve access to breast cancer healthcare services for women in rural and remote parts of Singrauli and Sidhi.
Early screening and detection can help identify cases at an earlier stage, enabling patients to receive timely medical evaluation and treatment.
Through the initiative, NCL and NSCBMC will work together to connect women in underserved areas with screening, diagnosis and treatment facilities.
MoU Signed in Presence of NCL and NSCBMC Officials
The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof. Dr. Navneet Saxena, Dean, NSCBMC Jabalpur, Smt. Parul Yadav, Manager (CSR), NCL, and other officials. The partnership marks a CSR-led effort to expand access to specialised healthcare services for women in the districts of Singrauli and Sidhi.
