KBC Junior winner becomes IPS officer

The Boy who won the KBC Junior 2001 is now an IPS officer of Gujarat cadre.

Nobody could have predicted Ravi Mohan Saini’s future when he won the Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) Junior in 2001. 

The show Kaun Banega Crorepati is famous in India. Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan hosts the programme. Due to the growing popularity of the show, a special format for children was introduced in 2001. Ravi Mohan Saini answered all 15 questions correctly to win the top prize of Rs 1 crore. He was in class 10.

Mr Saini has many achievements to feel proud of. He is not just KBC Junior winner but also cleared UPSC Civil Services and became an IPS. He is currently posted in Gujarat.

He is an MBBS by qualification. He always topped throughout his academic career and cracked Civil Services through self-study.

According to an interview, Saini said that he had a desire to meet Amitabh Bachchan which encouraged him to take part in KBC Junior in 2001.

Saini succeeded in the UPSC Civil Services on his own hard work and consistency. During the MBBS degree, his friends told him to try his luck in the UPSC exams. He appeared in the exam for the first time in 2012 and was successful in clearing the Preliminary exam and the Main exam but could not get through.

He appeared again in 2013 and was selected for Indian Post and telecom, accounts and finance services and underwent eight months of training. In 2014, he appeared in the exam again and qualified for the Indian Police Services (IPS) with an All-India Rank of 461.
